In this sermon, Pastor Terry Watson wraps up a series of special Christmas messages for 2020. The Scripture reference is found in the New Testament Book of Matthew 2:10-15. The Magi knew the Holy Child they were seeking was royalty, so they arrived bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Herod’s response was contrary to the Magi because he sought kill Jesus. As a result, God gave Joseph a warning in a dream, telling him about Herod’s plan to find and destroy the Christ Child. Joseph responded to God’s instructions with obedience, fleeing to Egypt to hide Jesus from Herod. Pastor explains the important lessons we can learn from the responses of both the Magi’s worship and Joseph’s obedience.
